Anne Vu

Greetings from Hanoi, Vietnam and Richmond, VA! I'm Tram Anh (Anne) Vu, a freshman at University of Richmond with an appetite for knowledge, a zeal for adventure and a passion for creating positive impacts on our community and environment. I’m excited to share my journey with you.

Eager Beaver

As the name suggests, I am a zesty person, eager to embrace new experiences. I believe by giving ourselves permission to try, not only do we accumulate hands-on experience but also gain fresh perspectives and enthralling anecdotes from people working in different disciplines.

Founder and President

I founded “trecon” with an aim to help children aged 12 - 17 to learn more about traditional Vietnamese craft businesses, thus expanding their knowledge in the field of economics. With the focus on experiential learning, I organized two summer camps to Phu Yen bamboo craft village, where participants could knit a bamboo coaster themselves and later partook in a simulation business game “Buzy-frenzy”, in which they acted as sellers to promote and price bamboo products.

Board of Management

I have committed to The Stratic since 10th grade as the organization’s vision of working towards SDG 13 resonates deeply with me. Throughout my 2 years here, I have broadened my knowledge of environmental issues, developed my leadership skills, unlocked my graphic design potential, and improved my work efficiency. Our efforts have gained international recognition, notably receiving patronage from the Denmark Embassy in Vietnam for our 3rd season.

CNNShine

CNNShine, in my mind, will always be the coolest club as I could make a significant contribution to our school, while having fun. We have fundraised 15,000,000 VND for Thuy An Rehabilitation Center by selling socks and cupcakes. Getting to know about the disabled children living there and learning about their positivity and endeavor has truly inspired me.

Event Organizer

Additionally, we held a charity concert whose 50,000,000 VND sales profit was donated to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT). I’m really glad that my clubmates and I has successfully partnered with top universities in Vietnam to organize this  concert.

 Head of External Relations

This project aims at promoting reading culture among Vietnamese teenagers. It gave me the very first opportunity to work with people from different cultural backgrounds and gained fresh insights about several book genres. The writing contest that our project organized was well-received by the public, collecting 50+ entries from avid readers nationwide.

Art Dilettante

Dilettante, by its definition, is a person who is interested in a subject, but whose understanding is not very deep. The word captures exactly my relationship with arts. Despite only taking it up in my leisure time, I have been experimenting with various materials since third grade, from wax crayons, watercolor to oil pastels. Recently, I am exploring pattern design for clothes as well as learning more about graphic design.

Now let’s wander through my multitude of artworks!
